It's the first of its kind in India. Pawsitive Peoples' Awards, will honour animal lovers who find a house for stray dogs, take injured ones to a veterinarian and care for canines.
Be it veterinarian hospitals and clinics, multiple animal welfare organisations, schools, colleges or the general society at large, people quietly, efficiently, go about nurturing the world of animals, giving care and providing selfless service.
"These are the deserving people we wish to honour and reward at Pawsitive Peoples' Awards on Sep 22," pet parent Farzana Behram Contractor, who has initiated these awards, said in a statement.
There are 11 awards in total. Five are trophy with certificate of honour, five are certificate of merit and one is the Bolshoi Medal.
Some of the categories include responsible breeder, the dedicated NGO and excellent groomer.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, known for being a dog lover, will give away the five trophies in a ceremony here.
Remaining awards will be presented by celebrities like Raveena Tandon and R. Madhavan.
The awards function will have a lineup of dog related entertaining performances.
Shiamak Davar's troupe will also perform at the event.
