Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra on Wednesday said that all sewage treatment plants of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) will have online monitoring and the data will be made public.
"For the first time in India, the data and performance of the sewage treatment plants run by a water utilities board or state will be open to the public. This will bring transparency and openness in governance," he said here.
There are 36 sewage treatment plants functioning in Delhi.
Mishra, who is also the DJB chairman, said that Rs 8.21 crore has been allotted to this project which will measure all important parameters including pH and ammonia level.
"This decision also fulfills the long standing demands of water activists and NGT technical committees from across the country," he said.
