Punjab teachers showing poor results of their students will now have to attend classes themselves, a minister said on Thursday.

Punjab Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema said that it has been decided to prepare lists of the teachers showing less than 30 percent result in order to formulate in-service training programmes for such teachers.

Cheema admitted that the evaluation and assessment of teachers showing poor results brought to the fore bitter and challenging scenario regarding the teaching profession.

He said that the move to provide in-service classes to teachers showing poor results has been made in order to uplift the standard of education in the state and rectifying flaws to achieve better results in future.

Cheema said that teachers will be provided training by expert resource persons.
