"12 Years a Slave" actress Lupita Nyong'o has lost her pearl-decorated dress that she wore to the 87th annual Academy Awards.

Police were called when the dress went missing from her room at the London West Hollywood hotel, reports aceshowbiz.com.

The 31-year-old reportedly left her room Wednesday and when she returned, the gown was gone. It was a white Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein dress adorned with 6,000 Akoya pearls. The dress is estimated to be worth $1,50,000.

Nyong'o was at the hotel with a large entourage that included friends, makeup, and hair stylist. Comments were not immediately available from the hotel. Police officials are still gathering evidence by reviewing surveillance video between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Nyong'o hasn't issued statement either, but Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Officer John Mitchell confirmed the theft.

"We got a call at about 11:30 last night from someone at the London Hotel about a high value dress that was stolen from a hotel room," he said.
