The Odisha government has collected Rs 6,625.91 crore under the Goods and Service Tax (GST) in 2017-18, Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera told the state Assembly on Monday.
Replying to a written question, the Minister said Rs 1,832.74 crore had been collected under the Acts subsumed in the GST which was implemented in the country on July 1, 2017.
The state government claimed Rs 2,309.67 crore GST compensation from the Centre.
"As against Rs 2,309.67 crore GST compensation due up to March 2018, the Centre has released Rs 2,019 crore up to February 2018. The Centre will release an amount of Rs 290.67 crore towards the loss for the month of March in its bi-monthly compensation of March and April in May 2018," said Behera.
