A video showing a personal security officer helping Odisha minister Jogendra Behera to put on his shoes has gone viral on social media, drawing flak from people.
Micro, Small, Medium Enterprise Minister Behera told the officer to help him in full public view after unfurling the national flag in Keonjhar district after the Independence Day celebration on Monday.
The minister said he found nothing wrong with what the officer had done. "I had not put on the shoes. I am a VIP," Behera said.
Talking to IANS, however, the minister clarified that the security officer always helped him tie his shoes as he had a leg injury and cannot bent.
The minister faced the wrath of people on Twitter and other social media.
