Delhi Chief Secretary K.K. Sharma on Wednesday met top officials of neighbouring states to restrict the entry of the overloaded vehicles which cause pollution in the national capital.

"The orders of the National Green Tribunal were discussed mainly to set up the Weight-in-Motion (WIM) bridges at the entry points of Delhi as well as other neighbouring states, especially in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in order to prevent overloaded, polluting and non-destined heavy vehicles," a Delhi government official said.

"It was also observed that 90 percent of the goods vehicles pass through the National Highways and the NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) is planning to set up the toll plaza with WIM system on all the leading National Highways all over the country," the official added.
