A day before her marriage, a 29-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping off from an upper floor of a mall here, police said Sunday.
The incident was reported around 11.30 p.m. Saturday from TDI mall in west Delhi's Rajouri Garden where her family members were performing the pre-marriage "Mehndi Rasm" function.
Shiwani, a resident of Vikaspuri, was slated to get married Sunday.
"The reason behind the extreme step of the victim is yet to be ascertained as no any suicide note was recovered," said a police official.
Shiwani's family members are being questioned to ascertain if they had pressurised her to get married or there was any other reason behind the suicide.
