One dead, four injured in Delhi road accident

A 22-year-old property dealer was killed and four people were injured in a head-on collision between two speeding cars, police said Friday.

The incident occurred around 1.30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg. A case has been registered.

Police said that a speeding SUV hit an Audi car from behind. The Audi's driver lost control and it collided head-on with a Honda Jazz.

Deepansh, Nikash, Vipul and Saral who were in the Honda were injured. They were rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where Deepansh, a resident of west Delhi's Ashok Vihar area, was declared dead. The other three are being treated there.

 

"The youths were on a joyride and were returning from India Gate when the incident took place," police said.

Priyanka Kakkar, who was driving the Audi, was rushed to a private hospital from where she was discharged after first aid.
