An Indian fishing boat was fired upon by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency personnel on Thursday, injuring at least one crew member, an official statement said.
The boat crew said four to five Indian fishing boats were seized by the Pakistani security personnel.
The incident occurred around 12 noon, and a fishing boat made a distress call that was received by Indian Coast Guard ship Rajratan.
"Indian Coast Guard ship Rajratan, patrolling along the notional International Maritime Boundary Line (IMLB), received a distress call from an Indian fishing boat regarding firing incident on another boat while fishing across the IMLB, by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA)," an official statement said.
"The boat fired upon was identified as FV Suryakiran," the statement said, adding that the ship immediately headed towards the boat to provide assistance.
"In the incident, a crew of FV Suryakiran sustained injury on his right hand. The crew further said that four to five fishing boats were seized by the PMSA personnel," the statement added.
