A person was injured when an alleged US pilotless aircraft fired a missile in the border area between Pakistan and Afghanistan, the Pakistani Urdu media reported on Wednesday.
According to media reports, the missile landed outside a house in Badshah Kot area of Kurram Agency, one of the seven tribal agencies in Pakistan's federally administered tribal areas, Xinhua news agency reported.
Panic gripped the area following the attack, reported Geo News, adding that the identity of the injured was not immediately known.
The aircraft kept on hovering over the area for some time before launching the strike, causing panic among the locals including a large number of women and kids.
This is the first drone strike in the country this year.
Pakistan has repeatedly protested against such attacks as an infringement of its sovereignty.
