A construction crane crashed on a supermarket in the German town of Bad-Homburg near Frankfurt Wednesday, causing at least one death and injuries to several people.
The accident happened around 11.30 a.m., Xinhua reported citing local media.
A crane fell on the roof of the crowded Aldi supermarket causing part of the building to collapse, said police and firefighters.
According to initial investigations, at least one person was killed in the accident, local media hronline.de reported.
In addition, five people were injured, two of them seriously. They were taken to hospital by rescue helicopters. Among them were customers, supermaket employees and the crane operator.
A spokesman of the fire department said several people had been buried in the debris.

Rescue helicopters, police, firefighters and medical personnel were at the scene which was cordoned off.
Rescuers were trying to secure the building with supports, in order to find out if anyone is under the rubble.
The crane was standing next to the Aldi supermarket. The cause of the crash is still unclear.
