A gunman killed one person and wounded at least three others in the Phoenix suburb of Mesa in the US state of Arizona. Police have arrested the suspect.
The Mesa police department has confirmed the arrest of the man suspected of being behind a series of attacks in different parts of the city, Efe news agency reported.
Mesa police spokesperson Esteban Flores said at a press conference on Wednesday that a white male with several tattoos on his body was arrested around one in the afternoon, five hours after the first attack was reported.
Images captured by media showed a handcuffed man dressed in a special white medical suit used to preserve biological evidence exiting an apartment complex.
He was then taken to a local hospital.
Flores said that they had decided not to reveal the suspect's name as several witnesses were yet to be interviewed and they did not want to jeopardise the investigation.

However, media identified the suspect as Ryan Elliot Giroux who has an extensive criminal record and has been jailed in Arizona for several crimes, including robbery.
Authorities are yet to confirm this.
On Wednesday morning, shots were reported in the Tri-City Inn motel on Main Street in Mesa and two people were found wounded, one of whom died later.
The gunman escaped to a nearby restaurant where he tried to steal a car injuring the car owner in the process.
The man drove to South Longmore where he shot two more people.
Authorities believe that the person who died at the motel knew the suspect.
