One more Malaysian MH17 victim identified

Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai Friday said Dutch forensic experts have identified the remains of one more Malaysian who was on board Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 which crashed in Ukraine.

The body of Muhammad Afruz Tambi Jee, 13, was identified in the ongoing post-mortem at Hilversum, Amsterdam, The Malaysian Star reported.

Liow said the latest development meant that two more Malaysians were still to be identified.

Muhammad Afruz's body is yet to be released by Dutch authorities.

On Sep 20, the Dutch ministry of security and justice said the number of identified victims has risen to 225.

It may take several months before every victim will be identified, it said.

 

Flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down over separatists-controlled eastern Ukraine July 17, killing all 298 people on board.
