Oracle University India on Tuesday announced a tie-up with Punjab-based Rayat Bahra University (RBU) and launched three specialised degree programmes under the Oracle Workforce Development Programme (WDP).

The degree programmes will use three Oracle technologies -- Oracle Database and Analytics, Java and Oracle Internet of Things (IoT) and Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

"Through Oracle University, we would like to build an ecosystem of technical experts who are industry-ready and equipped with in-depth understanding on the latest Oracle technologies," Jose Koshy, country director, Oracle University India, said in a statement.

An initiative from global software major Oracle, the Oracle University will provide education and certification programmes that give students relevant job skills in an increasingly competitive global work environment.

"We want our students to learn latest technologies to become competitive and industry ready," added Gurvinder Singh Bahra, chairman, RBU.

Students who graduate with these programmes will be eligible for jobs such as an IoT developer, IoT architect, software developer and big data analyst, among others.
