The monsoon session of the Goa assembly began on Monday with opposition legislators alleging that over 60 per cent of their questions have not been responded to by the government.

"I have filed a breach of privilege notice against ministers concerned and head of departments. It is my right as a legislator to get answers to questions 48 hours before they are scheduled to be answered. Over 60 per cent of the questions are unanswered," Opposition MLA Vijai Sardesai said.

Sardesai was supported by Congress MLAs Digambar Kamat and the Leader of Opposition Pratapsing Rane.

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, however, said all files related to replies of legislative assembly questions had been cleared by his office, as well as the office of the chief secretary, by last Thursday and Friday.

"It must be checked if the answers are loaded (online). We have replied to most queries," Parsekar said.

The 15-day monsoon session is expected to be the last sitting of the Goa assembly with the state expected to go to polls early next year.
