At least 52 people were killed and over 200 injured on Thursday when a booby-trapped truck exploded at a marketplace in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.

The attack took place in a crowded vegetable market in the Shia majority Sadr area's Jameela market, Al Jazeera reported.

According to sources, the toll is likely to rise as many of the injured are in critical condition.
