Chhattisgarh Tuesday recorded 74.70 percent voter turnout in 72 assembly constituencies in the second phase of polling, Election Commission of India said here, calling it the highest turnout in these seats.
"The polling was impressive and largely peaceful," Deputy Election Commissioner R. Balakrishnan told reporters here. He said the figure was tentative as it was only till 5 p.m.
In the 2008 polls, these constituencies witnessed polling percentage of 71.09, he added.
