Pakistan Thursday arrested 50 Indian fishermen and seized 10 boats, the police said.

A police official said 10 Indian fishing boats along with 50 crew members were apprehended for entering Pakistani waters.

The fishermen will be handed to the police, who will register cases against them for straying into Pakistan's territorial waters, Dawn reported.

In November, Pakistan announced the release of 35 fishermen, a day after the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) summit concluded.

The fishermen and one civilian were released from Karachi's Malir prison after completing their sentences.

The prisoners were repatriated to India through Wagah land border checkpost.
