The Pakistan government has finalised direct talks with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the venue will be decided in the next 48 hours, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said Thursday morning.

A new government committee, comprising Habibullah Khushk, Fawwad Hassan Fawwad, Arbab Arif and Rustam Shah Mohman, met Khan Wednesday to finalise the decision to hold direct talks, the News International reported.

The government committee is planning to hold the talks at an easily accessible place.

The TTP has objected to the holding the talks in the North Waziristan area while the government wanted the Bannu Airport in Miranshah to be the venue.

During the meeting, the TTP will be asked to dissociate itsele from and identify the groups who do not want to maintain peace and order.
