At least five security personnel were killed when Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and advisor to prime minister Amir Muqam's convoy was attacked with a bomb in Swat Valley's Shangla area.
Malakand district deputy inspector general of police confirmed the toll in the attack with a remote-controlled bomb in Shangla area, Geo News reported.
Sources said, the blast occurred near Amir Muqam's vehicle in Martung area, and as a result five security men were killed. Muqam, however, was unhurt.
The security van escorting the convoy was damaged in the attack.

Amir Muqam was in the area for local bodies electioneering.
On Jan 9, a senior police officer known in Pakistan for campaigning against the Taliban was killed in a bomb blast in Karachi.
The Pakistani Taliban said they carried out that attack.
