Pakistan PM, Afghan president, British PM discuss regional situation

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met his British counterpart David Cameron along with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Friday for a breakfast meeting at 10 Downing Street in London.

The leaders discussed the regional situation, with particular reference to Afghanistan, Radio Pakistan reported.

Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah was also present at the meeting.

Sharif had arrived in London to attend an international conference on Afghanistan, which was held Dec 4.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Pakistan prime minister also held bilateral meetings with Cameron and US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Commenting on the premier's participation in the London Conference, Pakistan foreign office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said it was a reflection of the importance that Pakistan attached to international efforts for peace, stability and economic development in Afghanistan.
