Despite border tensions in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan Rangers shared sweets with the BSF on the border here in Punjab Wednesday to mark Pakistan's independence day.
Pakistan Rangers officers walked up to the zero line at the Attari-Wagah border gates, 30 km from Amritsar, and smilingly offered the sweets to Border Security Force Deputy Inspector General M.S. Farooqi.
Pakistani troops have been accused of killing five Indian soldiers after sneaking into Jammu and Kashmir.
Farooqi said the BSF accepted the sweets keeping in mind a long tradition along the Punjab border.
He said the BSF would give sweets to Pakistan Rangers Thursday to mark India's independence day.
