The director general (DG) of Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani during a daylong visit to the country, media reported Monday.
ISI DG Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar, undertook a daylong visit to Kabul Sunday, Dawn online reported Monday.
The two discussed strategies to strengthen the joint efforts of the two countries in their fight against terrorism and extremism.
The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation to ensure peace and security in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
This was the second visit of the ISI chief to Afghanistan after the Taliban attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar Dec 16, 2014 in which 148 people, including 132 children were killed.
