Pakistan Friday inked a loan and project agreement worth $248 million with Asian Development Bank (ADB) for power transmission programme, media reported.
The power transmission tranche-4 aims to improve energy supply and security by reducing transmission infrastructure bottlenecks and transmission losses, Dawn online reported.
The project is expected to be completed by 2016.
The transmission system in the country is currently unable to cope with existing demand in some areas at peak times, thus, the major aim of the project is enhancement in the capacity of the transmission system by rehabilitation, extension, augmentation and expansion to meet the growing power demand in the country, the report said.
