Pakistan twice violates ceasefire, no Indian casualty

Pakistan troops resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian positions at two places in Mendhar sector of the Line of Control in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir Thursday, officials said.

A defence spokesman told IANS Pakistani troops violated ceasefire, firing at Indian position in Bimar Gali in the Mendhar sector.

He said, "Our troops retaliated with small arms and automatics. The firing started at 11.45 a.m. and continued till 3.15 p.m."

He said, "Unprovoked Pakistani firing also occurred at Krishna Ghati of the same sector at 6.45 p.m. and continued till 7.25 p.m."

The spokesman said there was no casualty or damage on the Indian side.
