Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain would be visiting Kabul Monday to attend the swearing- in ceremony for the new Afghanistan president, the foreign ministry said late Sunday.
Afghan president-elect Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai will be sworn-in Monday in the country's first-ever peaceful power transition. President Hamid Karzai, the longest serving elected president, will transfer power to the new leader, Xinhua reported.
"The President's participation in the inauguration ceremony underscores Pakistan's consistent support for peaceful democratic transition in Afghanistan."
