AIADMK's "sacked" Deputy General Secretary T.T.V.Dinakaran on Monday said K.Palaniswami got the post of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister by accident.
He was speaking to reporters in Madurai.
Referring to the recent resolution passed by party faction led by Palaniswami stating that his appointment was not as per party rules, Dinakaran said the Chief Minister and others had submitted an affidavit to the Election Commission stating that he (Dinakaran) is the party's Deputy General Secretary and V.K.Sasikala as the General Secretary.
Dinakaran said he would perform the necessary surgery in the party at appropriate time.
He said Palaniswami and others have pushed aside the ladder they had climbed to reach their present position.
Dinakaran expressed confidence that all the factions in the party would unite and secure the two leaves symbol now frozen by the Election Commission.
