Panasonic's ultra-secure Eluga Mark smartphone comes to India

If you are looking for a highly-secured smartphone that does not let your sensitive data gets stolen, try a new security-oriented smartphone from Panasonic India.

Launched for the Indian consumers in the capital on Thursday, the Rs.11,990 Eluga Mark smartphone is enabled with enhanced privacy features such as fingerprint sensor and Android-For-Work for enhanced IT security and Bring your own device (BYOD) support.

"With the growing use of smartphones for a wider range of high-risk activities such as access to cloud data and private information, mobile security is a top priority for users," said Pankaj Rana, business head (mobility division) at Panasonic India.

 

The control-sensitive device, which achieves complex tasks with the press of a finger or a swipe of the thumb, is personalised for the user.

"We are approaching an end of the year which brings our portfolio for 2015 to a total of 16 new devices launch with a few more to come. In 2016, we would be focusing more on 'Make in India' and 4G-enabled devices by targeting international markets and regions," he said in a statement.

Eluga Mark is powered by an Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS and a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Octa Core processor.

It comes loaded with an impressive 2GB RAM plus 16 GB internal memory -- expandable up to 32GB with the use of a micro SD -- and a 13 MP rear camera optimised by LED flash and a 5 MP front facing camera.

Equipped with a full 4G/LTE connectivity package including advanced A-GPS global positioning technology, the dual SIM model runs on a mega-capacity 2500 mAh battery for longer, smother operations.

It boasts a 5.5-inch IPS display available in either a Royal Gold or Metallic Grey finish.

The Eluga Mark comes with the FitHome user interface engineered exclusively by Panasonic, which is distinctive in nature and enables single thumb-flick access to applications on the home screen.
