The hills of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, causing landslides and road blocks in some areas, while all the major rivers and their tributaries were once again in spate, officials said.
While Paonta Sahib town, known for a Sikh shrine, recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 202 mm, it was 109 mm in Nahan, 89 mm in Palampur and 87 mm in Una town.
State capital Shimla and Manali saw just 2.9 mm and 9.6 mm rain, respectively.
A Met official said there are chances of heavy rainfall at some places till the weekend.
Incessant rains have also caused landslides in interiors of Sirmaur district, hampering vehicular traffic. The entire district recieved the heaviest rainfall in the past 24 hours.
The water level in major rivers of the state -- Satluj, Beas and Yamuna -- which enter the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana has also increased, officials said.
