Massimo Gobbi headed in a last-gasp equaliser to salvage a 2-2 draw for Parma against Fiorentina in the last match of the sixth round of Italian Serie A.
Hosts, Fiorentina, had come from behind to take a 2-1 lead with 13 minutes remaining Monday. Goals from Gonzalo Rodriguez and substitute Juan Vargas overturning Walter Gargano's opener, reports Xinhua.
But Gobbi, a former Fiorentina midfielder, had the last word, snatching a 2-2 draw for the visitors in the 92nd minute.
Montella confessed to feeling "great bitterness" as he saw three points reduced to one.
"There is great bitterness, as overall the game had so many different phases," he said.
"In the first half we didn't do well, partly down to the great work of Parma, while I saw a different Fiorentina after the break. We had a different tempo and style, which is why we deservedly went in front."
"It takes experience to bring home these matches. We tried to keep knocking the door down when we should've been patient and a few seconds from the final whistle we conceded a goal," he said.
