The national capital experienced a partly cloudy day on Sunday and the maximum temperature settled at 39.6 degrees Celsius, the average for the season. The Met office has forecast similar weather for Monday followed by development of thunderstorm.
"Monday will have a partly cloudy sky with development of thunder and lightning towards the evening and night," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 39 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The minimum on Sunday was 26.9 degrees, one notch below the season's average, while the humidity oscillated between 60 and 37 per cent.
