Peace has returned to the international border in Jammu and Kashmir since the director general-level talks between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers last month, the BSF said on Wednesday.

"Since the DG-level talks between India and Pakistan regarding the bilateral ceasefire agreement, peace has returned to the international border in the state," Rakesh Sharma, inspector general of BSF, told the media here.

"The terror structure is, however, intact in Pakistan and hence we are maintaining high vigil," he said.

The BSF official said building community bunkers in villages close to the international border would be taken up soon.

"In times of ceasefire violations, these bunkers can be used by civilians," Sharma said.

The BSF guards the international border in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan Rangers are posted on the other side.
