Son of football legend Pele Edinho is in talks to coach Brazilian club Mogi Mirim.

The 44-year-old former Santos goalkeeper is the favourite to replace Claudinho Batista as manager of the Serie B outfit. His appointment is said to have come at the behest of former Brazil great Rivaldo, who is now Mogi Mirim's president, reports Xinhua.

Edinho was released from jail in November while he appeals a 33-year prison sentence for laundering money to a drug gang. He is currently an assistant coach for Santos, where his father scored 1,091 goals from 1,116 matches from 1956 to 1974.
