Brazilian football legend Pele thinks world record holder Usain Bolt has surpassed his own legacy, and despite being dubbed by many as the "Master" Pele regards the Jamaican sprint legend as "Master of the new generation".
In statements published by French newspaper Le Parisien on Tuesday, Pele said that Bolt is the best athlete in the history of the Olympic Games and joked that it could have been him if he was involved in sports other than football, reports Efe.
The retired Brazilian explained he has always wished to compete in boxing at the Olympics so that he could face the late ever boxing champion Muhammad Ali.
He added if Brazil wins the gold medal at Rio, he has no doubt that people will be out on the streets to celebrate the victory as if it is a carnival.
He also explained the important role of FC Barcelona forward Neymar with the national Olympic team at the Games.
