Pune Football Club's long-serving coach Derrick Pereira will step down from his post at the end of the season.

Pune FC's head of operations Chirag Tanna said: "The 51-year-old's departure brings to an end a fantastic spell."

"Derrick has been an excellent ambassador during his stay at Pune FC. We wish him well for all his success in future endeavours," he added.

Pereira, meanwhile, will return to his home-state in Goa to be with his family.

During his four-season stint at Pune, the club finished third in I-League 2009-10; fifth in 2010-11 and 2011-12 respectively and currently remains in contention for a top-three finish.

Pereira's last game for Pune FC will be the home game against Pailan Arrows May 11.
