Ted Bishop has been ousted as president of the Professional Golf Association (PGA) of America after he called Ian Poulter a "lil girl" on Twitter.

Bishop wasn't happy with the remarks Poulter made in his book on the Ryder Cup captain Nick Faldo in 2008 and Tom Watson this year, reports Xinhua. He referred to Poulter as "lil girl".

The PGA of America announced Friday that Bishop was relieved of his duties. PGA vice president Derek Sprague will replace Bishop on an interim basis.
