A pillion rider was crushed to death and three others, including two pedestrians, injured early on Friday in a hit-and-run incident here, police said.
Around 10 a.m., a passerby informed the police control room about an accident at Khoka Market in south Delhi's Saket, police said, adding it was found that a speeding SUV first hit two pedestrians - Dinesh, 32 and Ganesh, 31 - at Asian market and fled towards Sector 1 in Pushp Vihar.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said that the accused, who was driving in a rash and negligent manner, took a left turn for Khoka Market, hitting a bike ridden by Suresh, 30, and his younger brother Narender, 27, who was riding pillion, and knocking them down.
All the injured were rushed to a hospital where Narender was declared dead. Others are undergoing treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences trauma centre, he said.
"Efforts are on to identify the car and the driver with the help of CCTV camera footage," the officer added.
