A medical evacuation plane disappeared near Senegal during a flight from Burkina Faso to Dakar, the Senegalese civil aviation authority said on Sunday.
The aircraft carrying seven people, including a French patient, went missing off the coast of Senegal at 7.08 p.m. on Saturday, Xinhua cited a statement as saying.
Senegal's air force was conducting a search for the wreckage.
According to officials, the plane was carrying a Senegalese doctor, two nurses, three crew members -- two Algerians and one Congolese -- apart from the patient.
The plane, which was scheduled to arrive in Dakar at 6.20 p.m., belonged to the private Senegalair company.
A technical investigation will be launched for further details, the civil aviation authority said.
