Pleasant weather in Bengaluru

The residents of Bengaluru experienced pleasant weather on Thursday, while other parts of Karnataka and its neighbouring states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh braved a heat wave, officials said.

"This is my first summer here. I never knew the weather is so pleasant. Recently, I travelled in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and those places are like a furnace," said Kiran Kumar Bharatha, a market analyst hailing from Hyderabad.

Higher temperatures were recorded in other parts of the state - it was 42.5 degrees Celsius in Kalaburgi, 41.5 degrees in Bijapur and 42.4 degrees Celsius in Raichur.

But Bengaluru was pleasant with a maximum temperature of 29.8 degrees Celsius, three notches below the average. The minimum was 22.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average, officials said.

 

The Met Office has forecast rain and thundershowers across Karnataka - at a few places in the southern parts, the coastal region and the northern parts of the state.

On Wednesday, the HAL airport, the Kempegowda International Airport (KIAL) and the Bengaluru city experienced 11.1 mm, 16.2 mm and 13.2 mm of rainfall respectively.

The eastern part of the Bengaluru city saw rainfall twice on Wednesday. It rained heavily the second time late in the night.
