The government Monday launched a dedicated website for the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) available both in English and Hindi versions.
As on Oct 22, a total of 6.47 crore accounts have been opened with a deposit of Rs.4,813.59 crore under the scheme.
G.S. Sandhu, secretary in the department of financial services (DFS) in the finance ministry, Monday launched the dedicated website -- www.pmjdy.gov.in.
It consists information on administrative structure with contact details of central, state, district-level mission directors, nodal officers monitoring implementation of the PMJDY, information of latest events, latest circulars issued under the scheme, links with social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter, said an official press release.
Till now, the details and other related information regarding the PMJDY were being disseminated through a link provided on the DFS website.
The mission document, account opening forms in Hindi and English, progress reports on account opening, RuPay cards issued etc. bank-wise, state-wise, as well as national and state-wise toll free numbers are available on the website.

The PMJDY, an ambitious programme on financial inclusion to cover all unbanked households in India by Jan 26, 2015 was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Aug 28.
On an average, 1,15,000 bank accounts are being opened every day.
