PM urges greater India-Japan cooperation against terror

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday called for greater greater bilateral and multilateral cooperation against terrorism at a meeting with visiting Japanese Defence Minister Gen Nakatani.

During the meeting, Modi also condoled the death of Japanese citizens in the terror attack in Dhaka earlier this month, an official release said.

Modi welcomed Japanese participation in the International Fleet Review off Vishakhapatnam in February and in the Malabar exercise off the Japanese coast in June. A

The Prime Minister said he is looking forward to his visit to Japan later this year for the annual summit between the two countries, the release said.

 

On his part, Nakatani briefed the rime Minister on bilateral defence cooperation initiatives and on regional developments in East and Southeast Asia, the release said.
