The Haryana Police Wednesday booked a family for lodging a false complaint about the alleged kidnapping of their minor son and also for blocking roads in protest.

A police spokesman said Manish Jain, a resident of Bawara Mohalla in Rohtak, 70 km from Delhi, registered a complaint with the city police station that his son Priyansh, 11, was missing. He said he suspected that his son had been kidnapped.

"Acting swiftly, the police registered a complaint and constituted four teams which were sent to different areas to search for the boy."

"However, the family members of the child knew that their child had not been kidnapped but had gone to Delhi as he was rebuked by his mother. But the family members blocked Kaccha Beri Road," police spokesman said.

The search teams found the child from ITO crossing in New Delhi Wednesday.

"The police handed over the child to the family. The child confessed that his mother had scolded him and he went to Delhi," the spokesman said.

He added that the police have booked the family members for lodging a false complaint and also for blocking roads.
