A police inspector was arrested here Tuesday while accepting a bribe of Rs.1 lakh to clear a man in a criminal case, an officer said.
The state police's anti-corruption bureau (ACB) caught red-handed Harikishan Gaur, posted as station house officer of Muhana police station, taking the bribe, Inspector General (ACB) Smita Srivastava said.
The officer said that Omprakash was booked in a land grabbing case.
"Gaur demanded Rs.1 lakh to weaken the case and clear his name," said Srivastava.
The ACB organised a trap and caught the SHO red-handed while he was accepting the money from Omprakash, she said.
