Police in Ghaziabad have booked one of their officers on charges of raping a woman and forcing her to go for abortion.
The police said a woman resident of Lokpriya Vihar in Khoda lodged a complaint on October 6 that Sub-Inspector Shailendra Singh raped her several times.
When she conceived, he forced her to abort. This was done twice, alleged the woman.
"We have registered a complaint under Sections 376, 313 and 506 of IPC against the sub- inspector. Presently he is posted at Modi Nagar. Investigation has been initiated in the case. He is yet to be arrested," said Superintendent of Police Akash Tomar.
