Delhi Police and cab aggregator Ola on Tuesday launched "Street Safe" campaign to create awareness about drinking, using phone while driving and over-speeding.
Delhi Police PRO Madhur Verma said that the campaign has been launched against these three key factors "which are found to be lead causes of road fatalities".
"The nationwide road and ride safety programme was launched at India Gate today (Tuesday). It is a joint initiative of Delhi Police and Ola Company."
At the event, police flagged off cabs with child lock disablement stickers designed to remind passengers to check and disable child lock before the trip starts, a step mandated for taxis by State Transport Authority (STA).
The cabs would also carry stickers on "Himmat Plus app" in order to encourage women commuters to download the app and use it in the event of distress.
