Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday said the campaign to keep river Narmada pollution-free is related to welfare of humans and nature's protection.

On the second day of the ongoing Namami Devi Narmade Seva Yatra, the Chief Minister performed 'puja' and 'aarti' in Dindori.

"Rivers are the source of life for human society. That's why the society will have to come forward to protect the rivers," Chouhan said.

"Humans have destroyed nature for their own selfish motives. The lives of future generation are in danger. The society is moving towards destruction," he added.

Chouhan also appealed to the people to plant trees and protect them.
