Syria suffered a power blackout on Thursday throughout the country and internet services were also partially down, Xinhua cited state news agency SANA as saying.
Citing a source with the Electricity Ministry, SANA said efforts are underway to determine the cause of the blackout and to restore power supply as soon as possible.
Maintenance crew are also trying to fix unidentified damage to the telecommunications network.
