President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday greeted Germany on its Unification Day anniversary and said both the countries were reaping the benefits of fruitful collaboration in a wide range of areas of common interest.
"Germany is India's valued partner. Our two countries have built a broad-based strategic partnership on the solid foundation of shared values of democracy, the rule of law and individual freedoms," said Mukherjee in his message to German President Joachim Gauck.
The President said that fruitful collaboration between the two countries has led them to reap benefits in a wide range of areas of common interest, including science and technology, trade and investment, infrastructure building, sustainable development and clean energy, security and defence, high-end technologies and innovation, as also people to people ties.
"I am confident that our partnership will continue to flourish and achieve new heights in the coming years," Mukherjee said.
October 3 commemorates the anniversary of German reunification (East and West Germany reunited) in 1990, when the goal of a united Germany was fulfilled.
