Malaysia Airlines said on Thursday in a statement that it would be too premature for the airline to speculate the origin of the aircraft flaperon discovered at Reunion Island.
"With regards to the reports of the discovery of an aircraft flaperon at Reunion Island, Malaysia Airlines is working with the relevant authorities to confirm the matter," Xinhua news agency reported quoting the airline's statement.
A piece of plane debris was found on the Indian Ocean island of La Reunion on Wednesday, that is likely to be part of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 that disappeared in March 2014, a regional media reported.
Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said on Wednesday that in New York that Malaysia has sent a team to Reunion Island to determine whether the debris come from the missing MH370 flight.
